Hello Area 46!
I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve as your Alternate Chair for the 2024-2025 rotation.
It was wonderful seeing everyone at the New Trusted Servant/DCM Orientation last month. If you have remaining questions or concerns about your new service role, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Christoph or me. We are happy to help.
One of the responsibilities of the Alternate Chair is to liaise with all Central Offices/Intergroups, and AA entities performing similar functions within Area 46. I attended Albuquerque’s Central Office meeting on January 14th, and am working to connect with someone at Santa Fe Central Office. I’ve also reached out to all Districts that operate an A.A. hotline, and look forward to participating and learning more through these connections.
My favorite part of this job so far has been responding to inquiries and requests from alcoholics seeking help with their drinking problem. Christoph and I receive several emails each week from people who contact us through our website. Some of the requests may be to simply clarify whether a meeting is still active, while others are trying to connect with Alcoholics Anonymous and find a meeting for the first time ever. There is nothing that makes me feel more a part of this fellowship than helping connect a drunk to a sober drunk. Please keep an eye on your email, as I may be forwarding specific requests your way.
Lastly, a friendly reminder that our Pre-Conference Assembly will be held the first weekend in April to avoid the holiday weekend at the end of March.
