Hello Area 46,
I hope everyone is staying warm and getting back into the swing of things after the holidays.
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at the Pre-Conference Assembly in March, hosted by District 10 in Carlsbad. In addition to conducting area business, this assembly provides opportunities for groups to share their conscience on this year’s General Service Conference topics. We will also entertain bids from Districts to host assemblies in August and December of 2026.
We know that hosting an assembly can seem daunting and there are many hurdles to overcome, particularly finding a venue and funding. If these obstacles are preventing your district from putting together a bid, collaboration with other neighboring districts may be a solution. For example, Districts 11, 12, and 13 will be co-hosting the December 2025 Assembly together. This is not the only solution, and we will continue to discuss ways to ease the financial burden Districts have been absorbing in order to host. Your feedback is encouraged and welcomed.

I am continuing to liaise with Central Offices/Intergroups and AA entities performing similar functions within Area 46. I appreciate the opportunity to participate and learn more through these connections.
