Hello Area 46!
Our Area 46 pre-conference assembly was March 26-27 in Moriarty and hosted by District 13. Thank you to District 13 for hosting an incredible assembly.
A huge thank you to the Technology Committee for making our second hybrid assembly a success. It is clear the team worked hard to iron out some of the issues we had during our first hybrid assembly last December. Well done!
72nd General Service Conference Agenda Items
Many of the conference agenda items have been assigned to area committees and districts within Area 46. Thank you to all for your thoughtful consideration of all background for your assigned agenda items. Thank you also for your attendance at the Saturday night sharing session during the Pre-Conference Assembly. This past assembly was so vital in helping Eloy, our delegate, get a good sense of the conscience of your group, your district, and our area. He will take this knowledge with him to the conference.
Other ways to provide Agenda Item Feedback (as a group or individual)
Short Agenda Item Survey – The short survey includes 11 of the conference agenda items. This survey could take between 15-30 minutes to complete. You can shorten this time if you read the background summaries or complete background material before taking the survey.
Complete Agenda Item Survey – The complete survey includes ALL of the conference agenda items. An answer is NOT required for each agenda item. You can pick and choose which items to which you would like to respond. This survey could take 4-5 hours to complete if you provide input on every agenda item.
On both surveys, a link to the complete background for each agenda topic is located just below each topic summary. This way, you have access to all information related to the agenda item. Surveys will remain open until April 15, 2022.
You can access both surveys from the Delegate’s page on the Service Site or by the buttons below.
District Workshops
Part of my role as your Alternate Delegate is to work with districts of Area 46 to host workshops. If your district already has a workshop idea, I am a ready and willing resource for you! Please contact me at altdelegate@dev.aa-nia.org or 865.804.2566.
Southwest Region Delegate’s Assembly (SWRDA)
March 11-13, 2022 I attended the Southwest Region Delegate’s Assembly with Eloy (our current delegate) and past Area 46 delegates Bill L., Teresa J., Ralph T. and Ray R. All I can say is WOW!
This was the 49th SWRDA. The purpose of SWRDA is to prepare the delegates in our region for the General Service Conference. Past delegates travel to SWRDA (usually at their own expense) to share their experience, strength and hope with the new delegates and alternate delegates. There were 75 total in attendance. This included 52 past delegates and trustees who poured into us “rookies.” I learned so much! I cannot wait to go back next year.
I left SWRDA full of new knowledge, experiences, and gratitude. Thank you Area 46 for sending both your delegate and your alternate delegate to this vital event each year. It truly helps your delegate better represent Area 46 and better serve Alcoholics Anonymous as a whole.
In True Gratitude and Service,
Kerri K
Area 46 Alternate Delegate, Panel 72
