April 2022 Delegate Report

April 2022 Delegate Report

Greetings Area 46

I hope this report finds you all well and in good spirits. As I write this report I just returned home from the Southwest Region Delegates Assembly in Oklahoma City As you know Area 46 sends the Delegate and Alternate Delegate every year to the Southwest Region Delegate Assembly, This year it was held March 11 -13.  The Assembly started Friday night  with Introductions of all past and present Delegates plus past and current Southwest RegionTrustees who were in attendance.  Then Area highlights were given by all present Delegates of their respective  Areas.  Saturday morning we started with workshop presentations given by Past delegates .  Saturday afternoon we had a mock Conference with agenda Items from 2019. These mock Conferences are a valuable learning tool to get us Delegates ready  for the real deal at the General service Conference, Saturday night we had  Jimmy D present Trustee and past Trustees sharing sessions and finished Sunday morning with the Southwest Delegate Business meeting. SWRDA is a great tool for the new Delegate. Its whole existence is to prepare the new Delegates for the upcoming General Service Conference. I have started to receive some feedback on some of the Agenda items. As you know, five topics were done at the Assembly Delegates sharing session and every Committee and District was given one Agenda Item. There is still time to give me feedback from your group. I am hoping to finish my Area folder on April 16 with the Areas feedback on the agenda items . Also there is still time to take the surveys that are posted on the Delegates page  at our Area website
dev.aa-nia.org , I have met on Zoom previously with my General Service Literature Committee and the last time on March 20. We will meet one more time here in April as we get ready to attend the conference and discuss our Committee agenda topics. I look forward to meeting these Literature Committee Delegates face to face and reuniting with my  Southwest Delegate family at the Conference. But before I sign off I want to mention again how important it is for the DCM to post their Contact information on the El farolito.
That is all from me until next time please stay safe .
