We opened our committee meeting on Saturday, March 27 at 11:05am with the Responsibility Statement. There were 12 people in attendance with representation from 6 Districts.
Congratulations to the Accessibilities Committee for District 12! Jaclyn S. reported that they have completed an accessibilities tri-fold that has been in development for many months. The brochure entitled “Alternatives to In-Person Meetings” provides information to access many types of on-line and virtual AA meetings. It includes meeting information on dev.aa-nia.org and aaintergroup.org along with other video, email, mail, chat group and other resources. The digital brochure is available on the dev.aa-nia.org website. This is a great project and will be of benefit for much time to come! Thank you, District 12, for this great contribution.
We had a lengthy discussion to consider a request by a member to bring a motion to the floor. The member making the request was unable to be present; however, after much consideration, it was the committee’s decision not to present any motions at this assembly.
We were also excited to learn that one of the Sunday morning speakers for the 2021 Virtual Convention will be a deaf member of Alcoholics Anonymous who will be assisted by an ASL Interpreter. We are looking forward to helping the convention committee in any way we can.
We ended our meeting with the Responsibility Statement at 11:45.
Thank you for allowing me to be of service!
