Archives Committee Report – Jan 2021

WOW! 2020 Area 46 Assemblies just keep getting better and better. So much gratitude to the Area web committee and the many techs who put it together. You are AWESOME!

The Archives committee met Saturday morning with 11 participants representing nine districts. Our Delegate, Bill L., joined us in sharing questions from Area 14 about our policies on digital material scope of collection. Material might include emails, web page notices pertaining to events, workshops, meetings, charts, and screenshots. We dis-cussed this during New Business and feel our collection scope, as post-ed on the Archives committee page on the Area website is adequate at this time. (Subject to change as we learn and grow).

The most updated list of group histories has been emailed to all DCMs or District Archives chairpersons. The updated Group History Form that includes questions about the pandemic has also been sent out.

We are still planning on the ‘Live’ history form.

Thank you to all Area 46 voting members who approved our funding for a new scanner and tablet. We are particularly grateful for the members who participated in the discussion on the motions. You brought up val-id points and we respect your contribution.

Our next meeting will be January 1, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom. This will be posted on the Area web-site dev.aa-nia.org under Events.

Thank you for the gift of service.

In love and gratitude,

Patience B.

Area 46 Archives committee chair
