GREETINGS & HAPPY NEW YEAR AREA 46!!
The CPC Committee will hold its next meeting at the March Area Assembly in Carlsbad.
For those new to A.A. service or to the Cooperation with the Professional Community (CPC) committee of Area 46, our mission is to inform professionals and future professionals about A.A. These are people that work with alcoholics in their professional capacity. Their fields may include medical (doctors and nurses), mental health (psychologists, therapists, counselors), clergy, law enforcement and corrections personnel, court personnel (judges, lawyers, probation officers), employee assistance program personnel, and students working toward degrees in any of the aforementioned areas.
CPC Committee members provide resources for those professionals who want to know more about what A.A. is and is not, what we do, and what we do not do. We seek to find effective ways of cooperating without affiliating.
Committee members are available to give presentations, either in person or online, to groups of professionals. We provide literature geared to their field of interest; direct them to the Meeting Guide App and to A.A. websites (both the Area and GSO); and encourage professionals to attend open A.A. meetings.
If your district does not have a CPC Committee or needs help getting started, please join us at our meeting at the Area Assembly in March. If you have any questions or need assistance before then, don’t hesitate to reach out to me at cpc@dev.aa-nia.org.
Looking forward to seeing you all in Carlsbad!
Paula S., Grateful to serve as your CPC Chair
