Hello Area 46! Our Corrections Committee end of March bank balance is $292.65. Thanks to your generous donations we continue to carry the message of hope and recovery to our members behind the walls.
A virtual Corrections Committee Meeting was held on March 17th to discuss the status of our Corrections Facilities book distribution project and future plans for the committee. The set of AA books I purchased last month were mailed (cost of $46.82) to the 11 Chaplains at the State and County Correctional Facilities with the promise of carrying our message of recovery to our members behind the walls. The books are to be placed in the facility libraries and reading rooms that provide access to our members behind the walls.
This is how your contributions are working to carry our message of recovery. I have also been working with Renee L., our District 13 Corrections Chairwoman. She has been instrumental in finding a printing company and getting our AA Meeting Cards printed (cost of $53.94), and the cards are ready for distribution. This is another example of how your contributions are being used to continue our work in carrying our message. These are the informational AA Meeting Cards that will soon be provided to each District DCM or AA Group. The DCMs and Groups will fill out the AA Meeting Cards with their local meeting names, addresses, and days and times of meetings. The DCMs and/or Groups should then distribute the cards to the Parole and Probation Offices in the cities in their Districts where they can be available to those checking-in with their Parole/Probation Officers. I am grateful and humbled for this opportunity to serve the Fellowship that saved my life.
