CPC Committee Report – Mar 2021

Buenos Dias le de Dios/May God grant you Good Days! As we are en-joying the snow here in Taos, I hope you all are safe and healthy during this pandemic crisis. Life on life’s terms can be challenging; however, thank God for AA as we get to work our program one day at a time. Which on that note, CPC service work opportunities are necessary to carry the message to the suffering alcoholic. Members of CPC committees provide information about AA to those who have contact with alcoholics through their profession. Examples of groups includes health-care, E.A.P. and H.R. professionals; educators; members of the clergy; lawyers; social workers; military professionals; government officials; and those working in the field of alcoholism. Information is provided about where we are, what we are, what we can do, and what we cannot do. For more information on how to get involved contact your local District’s CPC chair or contact me.

Our Area 46 CPC Committee met on February 1, 2021 and we had individuals from Districts around the state sharing on their service work activities. For example, Janet A., CPC Rep, from District 18 is working with the Corrections Committee to distribute soft cover 12×12 and Big Books to 11 prisons. Tina A., from District 10, reported she would like to distribute pamphlets to local doctor’s offices, police stations, the courts, and venues where professionals may be in contact with individuals struggling with alcoholism. I would like to thank your Committee Members for the participation as they continue to “suit up and show up” to be of service.

For more information on CPC, I welcome you to join the Area 46 monthly CPC Committee via Zoom on the first Monday’s of each month from 6pm to 7pm. If you are interest-ed in attending, please contact me at cpc@dev.aa-nia.org.

In the Spirit of Service, Lawrence M.
