Greetings from Taos. The hope is, we are in the tail end of the pandemic crisis. We see more service work opportunities for CPC work for in your respective Districts. If I can be of assistance, please feel free to contact me as your Area 46 CPC Chair.
A big THANK YOU to District 9 for hosting the virtual Pre-Conference Assembly from March 26-28, 2021. Also, much gratitude to the Area 46 Tech Committee for their hard work on making the Assembly a Success!
We had 19 AA members attend the CPC Committee meeting. After introductions, Janet A. and Sarah F. shared examples of two presentations to UNM Medical students through CPC service work. The students expressed the presentations were very informative and helpful. Per the Pre-Conference Assembly, the Committee discussed if GSO should create a mental health pamphlet for professionals. There were key interests points that came up in the discussion such as changing the titles of other pamphlets and having a pamphlet that speaks to both professionals and individuals with mental health disorders to name a few. The purpose of the communication materials is:
“To create a pamphlet geared towards mental health professionals specifically that would educate them about AA with the hope that they may be better qualified to help a person who has a desire to stop drinking person who has a desire to stop drinking.” The majority of the 19 members voted to create a pamphlet with only one voting no and one abstaining. It was encouraged to complete the survey on the Area website in efforts to provide our Delegate, Bill L. input before he attends the virtual conference in April.
For more information on CPC, I welcome you to join the Area 46 monthly CPC Committee via Zoom on the first Monday’s of each month from 6pm to 7pm. If you are interested in attending, please contact me at cpc@dev.aa-nia.org.
In the Spirit of Service,
