Delegate Report – February 2024

Hello Area 46!

Thank you to all DCMs, Area 46 Committee Chairs and Area 46 Officers who participated in the Trusted Servant Orientation on January 27. Ally T., your Alternate Delegate, and I conducted the DCM’ orientation.  If you are a DCM and were unable to attend, please reach out to me or Ally.  We are happy to share the DCM orientation information with you.

The Life of a Conference Agenda Item
Saturday, February 17 9-10:30 AM
Zoom ID: 890 8237 6344
Passcode: Service

Please mark your calendars for February 17 at 9:00 AM. Ally and I will be hosting an online workshop called “The Life of a Conference Agenda Item.” It is designed to help A.A. members understand who can submit proposed agenda items and what can happen to them after submission.

“Town-Hall” Meetings

Leading up to the assembly, during the month of March, I will be hosting some “Town Hall” events online to provide A.A. members in Area 46 the opportunity to express their feedback on certain General Service conference Agenda Items.

Final Agenda Items and Background Information

The final Conference Agenda items will be released by GSO in mid-February after the Board weekend which is held at the end of January.  The background material will be released beginning February 15 and will be released by committee. All material will be released in English, Spanish and French at the same time.

Once we have the background information, Ally and I will begin assigning specific agenda items to districts and committee chairs. For some agenda items we will be looking for a larger group conscience than one district or committee.  These agenda items will be discussed at the pre-conference assembly and during the town hall meetings.

A note to GSR’s – your group’s informed conscience is such an integral part of the Alcoholics Anonymous service structure.  Your group’s voice matters!  Once the final agenda is released, I encourage you to ask your groups which agenda items they would like to discuss.  You can then obtain the background material for those agenda items from the service site. Also, please encourage your group members to attend the Town Hall meetings where they can express their viewpoints on specific agenda items.

Pre-Conference Assembly

Our pre-conference assembly will be held April 6-7 hosted by District 9. Please make sure to attend the Saturday Delegate Sharing session where we will discuss specific agenda items along with the time set aside on Sunday morning for GSR’s to share the informed conscience of their groups.

Delegate’s Calendar

In mid-February I will publish a comprehensive Delegate calendar. You will be able to access it from the home page of the service site as well as my Delegate’s page.

I look forward to seeing you all at the pre-conference assembly.

In True Gratitude and Service,
Kerri K
Panel 74 Delegate
