District 11 Report – Mar 2021

Warm greetings to you all from District 11. We meet the second Saturday from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Zoom with the anticipation that one day we will be able to return to hybrid and then, oh happy day, face to face. We have a few chair positions open: archives, cooperation with the professional community/public information (CPC/PI), literature, treatment, and young persons.

Great news!! Daphne M. will serve as our Accessibilities and Re-mote Communities Committee chair. Mike W. is working on AA information cards for Corrections. George M. is Central Office’s new coordinator, effective April 1. And the night phones are now covered.

The picnic in Jemez on August 7 and the Traditions Conference in October, are both in need of chair-persons. As I mentioned last month, we were interested in the possibility of observing, not participating, in the virtual General Service Conference April 18-24. As it turns out the logistics for virtual transmission to observe are just too unmanageable for this to happen.

We are considering the possibility of a permanent Zoom meeting for District 11 once the pandemic is be-hind us and meetings start to return to face-to-face meetings. The conversation is just beginning. There are a lot of details to work out. It would take commitment, coordination, Zoom volunteers, a revolving chair. I will keep you posted as this unfolds.

With gratitude,

Tylka
