District 13 Report – January 2022

District 13 Report – January 2022

Greetings from District 13! We meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10:00 AM. Our next hybrid meeting is on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Metropolitan Community Church, 1103 Texas St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87110. You may attend in person or join virtually. Our Zoom Meeting ID is: 719-543-888. You can also dial in by phone: 1-346-248-7799, Access Code: 719-543-888.

Andrew M. celebrated 5 years in December. Congratulations!

We are continuing to hold elections monthly until all service positions are filled. We are in need of a new Secretary, among other committee positions. All GSRs, Alt. GSRs, group contacts, or individuals interested in helping provide services to the A.A. communities of Albuquerque (S of I-40 & E of I-25), Tijeras, Moriarity, McIntosh, Willard, Mountainair, and Corona are welcome and encouraged to attend, stand, and be elected.

It was great to see everyone at the December Assembly in Raton! Kudos to District 6 and to all who worked to execute our first-ever Hybrid Assembly. While there are certainly some bugs to work out, it was wonderful to see the Area come together in order to provide accessibility alternatives for those unable to attend in person.

District 13 has been busy preparing for the March 2022 Pre-Conference Assembly at the Moriarty Civic Center. More information, including lists of local hotels/motels and restaurants can be found on the Upcoming Assembly Page of dev.aa-nia.org. Please note that the Moriarty Civic Center requires all attendees to wear a face covering while guests in their space. If you plan to attend the next assembly in person, please adhere to this requirement from the building. If you cannot wear a face covering due to health or other reasons, plan to join us on Zoom.

We are seeking volunteers to help host this event. If you are interested in supporting by greeting, hospitality service, or organizing the Friday night pre-Assembly AA meeting, please email district13@dev.aa-nia.org. We are also in the final stages of distributing our share of the books and hope to have this completed soon.

Please consider including District 13 when your group makes quarterly distributions. It is through your generous contributions that we are able to provide services to our local A.A. communities. Checks can be made out to District 13, and mailed to P.O. Box 11134, Albuquerque, NM 87112. To contribute digitally, follow this link: https://venmo.com/?txn=pay&audience=private&recipients=district-13, or send contribution in Venmo to user: district-13.

We hope to see you at our next hybrid meeting in January. Your participation and your vote are very important and we appreciate your willingness to serve.

It has been an honor serving as DCM of District 13 for the last two years. I am grateful for all of the opportunities it has afforded to me and my recovery.

In love & service,

Laura S.
