District 14 Report – Feb 2021

Happy New Year 2021 from Taos and surrounding areas. At the latest District 14 meeting, open chair positions were discussed. Most of our cur-rent Standing Chair positions are in the middle of their two-year rotation (with the term ending Dec. 2021), but the following chair positions are currently open: Grapevine, Literature and Corrections. The Secretary position was also open and Andy C. was elected. Thank you for stepping up, Andy! The next D14 meeting will be on February 20 @ 9:30am on Zoom.

Because of the coronavirus restrictions in our area, District 14 has not incurred as many expenses as usual, so was fortunate to be able to contribute $1,000 to GSO in December 2020. Speaking of the pandemic, Taos County is still in the red, so in-person meetings need to be limited to five people or less according to the latest NM Health Order. There are a few small in-person meetings being held in Taos, but most meetings are still on Zoom.

There are some fun events being planned for Taos: The “There Is a Solution” AA group is planning on having an online AA Jeopardy game event. The logistics of how to make this happen on Zoom are still being worked out, but it will no doubt be a lot of laughs. And planning is already underway for the Taos Mountain Fiesta conference, which we plan and hope to have in person this year on Sept. 17-19, 2021. There will be great speakers, panels, alcathons, as well as the all new Grape-vine writing workshop. Stay tuned for more details. We look forward to you joining us in beautiful Taos in the Fall!

Yours in service,

Kelly O.,

District 14 El Farolito Rep
