Greetings and Happy New Year from District 18!
Our district conducted our last meeting on January 9th virtually via Zoom. I believe most of our positions are filled. I would like to take the time to thank all the people that attended our district meeting Susan D, Matthew M, Janet A., Jeff B., Steve G., Andrew S., Amy C., Darin E., Brian R., Sarah F., Lorrie S., Peter F., and Laura B. It is this kind of people that are concerned about helping the next suffering alcoholic and at the end of the day, that is what makes AA the incredible program that it is. A special thanks also to Peter F. for heading up the lunchbox group New Year Alcothon, which started at 600 pm and continued to 700 am. The lunchbox group has been doing this for the last several years. I believe the most exciting thing about the Alcothon is that it gives a new-comer somewhere to be if they do not want to be out drinking for New Year. The midnight meeting always seems to be a popular meeting because we do the New Year countdown. It was a great time. So, keep it in mind for next year! I know that we are still dealing with COVID and all the issues that come with it, but I am so proud to be a part of Alcoholics Anonymous and all the people that make it what it is. I also want to take the time to congratulate Peter F. on his sobriety date, which is January 14th, 1985, 36 years! I person-ally know of a lot of people that Peter has helped and sponsored, myself included, so again congratulations Peter F.
