District 6 Report – Feb 2021

Hello from Northeastern New Mexico, District 6. Our last meeting was held January 2, the first Saturday of the New Year, at 2:00 PM through Zoom. Our hopes are for a wonderful, Happy New Year for all!

Our meeting was conducted by District 6 DCM Paul G., Kristina F provided our district with an update of ADHOC.

District 6 is looking to fill several committee positions that currently do not have chairpersons. DCM Paul G. suggested that each GSR return to their group with information about each of the vacant committees and encourage participation as a way of serving in AA.

District 6 is excited to have been awarded the opportunity of hosting the 2021 December Assembly for Area 46. Cody M., Chair of the District 6 2021 December Planning Committee stat-ed that the venue for the assembly has been secured with a deposit to the City of Raton, the owner/manager of the Ra-ton Convention Center. A walk through was performed, and the Convention Center was deemed an appropriate size and space to hold the upcoming assembly. The Planning Committee will hold planning sessions via Zoom every third Thursday at 6:00 PM. Anyone interest-ed in participating can contact Cody at codycmorrow@msn.com.

Congratulations to Julian S. from the District 6 Zooming Into Sobriety for being elected as our new Alternate DCM. Julian has 21 years of sobriety and is excited to be of service to District 6.

Pedro O., Literature and Web Chair, reported that several copies of our district’s meetings times and places have been distributed to all of the communities in our district, except one, Cimarron, which will receive literature in the next trip. The group discussed possible options of each group being able to print their own copies in addition to those that were provided by the district. The consensus of the group is that we want to be able to provide in-formation to everyone in print as well as through the website.
