Finance Committee Report – Jan 2021

Good Morning Area 46,

The Finance committee reviewed the budget for 2021 without too many issues, really no issues. The lack of assemblies created quite a bit of excess funds for the end of this year and also reduced our costs for next year for a relatively small balanced budget.

I had not accomplished any-thing on the non-profit research concerning making the Area a 501(c) non-profit corporation (I think that’s the right wording). In an effort to get this moving I will be having regular committee meetings every two weeks. The group felt Wednesdays and Saturdays worked best. The first meeting was to be held Wednesday, December 16th at 7 PM. I will try to have meetings at both times through-out. If this is something you want to participate in please send an email to finance@dev.aa-nia.org and I will add you to the list. I will get a schedule emailed out to everyone who was registered for the finance meeting and people that email me.

At the last assembly we voted to create online contributions for the Area. I had spoken to Kerri and we felt PayPal and Venmo were the best options. A question came up on whether we want recurring payments as an option. I put this to the committee and the consensus was in favor of recurring payments. If the motion for a new website passing the online contributions will be built into that, if not a plug-in will be added to our current website.

After those things we discussed the extra money we were ending the year with. There were lots of ideas and it also turned into a discussion about possibly setting some of that money aside so we don’t feel like we need to figure out how to spend it all at the December Assembly.

I think that’s about it, See you all next year. Thanks for everyone’s help and take it easy.

Julio
