Greetings, Area 46!
The Hybrid Event Production (HEP) Committee has had a busy beginning to the year! Here are the highlights:
HEP Committee Meetings: We met for the first time as a committee on January 25th and primarily worked on preparations for the New Trusted Servant/DCM Orientation and Assembly Planning Meeting as well as working out a schedule for a standing meeting. We’ll be meeting every month on the fourth Thursday at 7:00 PM. Come join us!
Hybrid Event Support: As mentioned above, we supported the New Trusted Servant/DCM Orientation and Assembly Planning Meeting on January 27th. This was our first event of the rotation and though there were some hiccups, we had great support and learned some valuable lessons. The next event we support will be the April Assembly in Farmington – we definitely need help both in-person and remotely from April 5-7.
Zoom Support: We also set up recurring meetings for the majority of the Area 46 Committees and provided support in getting them going. If you are a committee chair and you haven’t yet scheduled a recurring meeting, please let me know.
Inventory: As we all know, “A business which takes no regular inventory usually goes broke” (“Chapter 5 – How It Works” – Alcoholics Anonymous 4th Edition) and I’m happy to say that I have completed an inventory of everything the HEP is responsible for in terms of equipment. I am now in the process of accounting for purchase prices and dates on the more expensive items so we can understand the valuation and replacement costs of our assets.
Recruitment: We need your help. As of right now, we’ve identified up to sixteen roles required to comfortably put on an Assembly. We can probably consolidate some, but the HEP Committee currently consists of eight people – some of whom have primary roles that will need their full attention during the Assembly. My goal is that we always have a minimum of two people available for each role. Being a member of the HEP Committee is a unique service opportunity which brings alcoholics from across the State together in person and virtually at Assemblies. It’s rewarding, fun, and an opportunity to give back in a meaningful way. Please consider joining us.
In Love and Service,
Andy S.
