Greetings Area 46
I hope this report finds you in good health and spirits. First I would like to say thank you District 10 for hosting the Area December Assembly.
Like all the other hosting Districts this past year you did a great Job .
The hospitality room had many goodies and lunch was quite tasty !! Plus the College is always a good venue . I can’t wait to go back to Carlsbad for the Area 46 Convention in June 2023.
There is always business to take care of at our Area Assemblies. One item that I would like to mention is the election of our Candidate for the position of South West Region Trustee.
As I have been mentioning on all of my Districts conference Reports, Our current South West Region Trustee Jimmy D term is ending. His last day will be at the 73 General Service Conference where we will elect his replacement from Candidates from the 11 Areas in the South West Region.
Teresa J Panel 68 past delegate and Bill L Panel 70 past delegate stood for the position of Area 46 Candidate . Teresa J was chosen out of the Hat after four ballots from the third legacy procedure. It was neck to neck through all four ballots with the last ballot only having four votes separating them. Both are as good of a Candidate as we have ever sent as trustee Candidates. And now it’s up to me to present Teresa to the Nominating Committee at the 73 General Service Conference.
It’s a new year and as the Alt Chair for the Conference Literature Committee my first Conference call on Zoom is January 20 with all of the Conference Committee Chairs , Conference Committee Alt Chairs, Conference Committee Trustees, Conference Committee Secretaries, Plus Directors and GSO Office Staff . As we will prepare for the 2023 General Service Conference.
Followed By Zoom meetings of all the Conference Literature Committee Delegates as the Committee Chair and I
( Alt Chair) welcome the new Delegates and help prepare for the Conference and all the Conference Literature Agenda items .
All of the Conference Agenda Items will be sent out as soon as I get them followed by the Background material.
On another note.
Here at home we will start putting together a committee to host the 2025 Southwest Region Forum as GSO will take care of the Venue. Kerri and I submitted our three Venue requirements to the GSO Conference and Forum Committee. It is up to them to choose a Venue. Our task as host is to be Greeters and Hospitality plus we will get a few other duties as the date gets closer.
The 2023 Southwest Region Forum will be Hosted by Southwest Texas Area 68 at El paso Texas in Early October (dates will be confirmed) From now till October i will be talking about trying to get as many people From Area 46 to go to El Paso to attend the 2023 Forum so we can get to see first hand on how to be a host when it is our turn in 2025.
