EL FAROLITO REPORT
AUGUST, 2021
DISTRICT 16 – SILVER CITY, BAYARD, ARENAS VALLEY, GILA, RESERVE, DEMING, COLUMBUS
Greetings from District 16!
The monsoon rains have begun and we’re finally getting some much needed moisture! The plants, critters, and people are all relieved by the rains and grateful to our Higher Power.
District 16 AA has resumed in-person meetings! The New 180 Club reopened in May, and there are currently ten in-person and hybrid AA meetings there weekly. Early in July, the Club’s Board returned the coffee pots to the clubhouse, so now members can have a cup of good ‘ole AA coffee!!
A new in-person meeting was started on Saturdays at noon. It’s held at the Methodist Church on College Avenue in Silver City.
Area 46 Delegate, Bill L. will be in Silver City to present his Delegates Report to District 16 on Saturday, July 31st. We will meet at the 180 Club at 9:00 am. All are invited to attend.
The Bayard Group will celebrate its 58th Group Anniversary with a Potluck Barbeque on Sunday, September 19th at noon. The BBQ will be held at the Little Walnut Gomez Peak Picnic Area in Silver City. All are welcome to attend and bring a side dish. More information, including the flyer, will be posted in the Events calendar on the Area 46 website.
The next District 16 Business meeting will be on Saturday, September 18th at 11:30 am at the 180 Club. We will be electing trusted servants for the next 2-year rotation. This is a great opportunity to be of service to AA at the district level!
Yours in gratitude & peace,
Paula S.
