If you would like to take meetings into New Mexico correctional facilities that are state-run it is time to start submitting your applications. Please complete the attached application and submit it to: Jason.Webb2@state.nm.us as well as copying the chaplain for the prison you wish to volunteer at. To find the email for a specific chaplain, go to this page, https://cd.nm.gov/services/volunteer-services/ and scroll down to the bottom where you can click through the blue tabs to get info on each state-run facility.
You will need to include a copy of your driver’s license with your application. Once the application is received, it is reviewed and then the applicant is cleared through NCIC. Once NCIC clearance is gained, then Mr. Webb will set members up for training.
If you have any questions about this process let me know or email Mr. Webb directly. He was very supportive in his communications with me and replied to my email with:
“We can certainly work to get your program into every facility. AA is a vital program, both inside and outside the walls. Keep the questions coming and we will get it up and running.”
Note there are two Zoom trainings scheduled and so if you get your application completed and turned in before these dates you might be able to attend:
September 14, 2021 and September 28, 2021
training will be via zoom at 6:30PM
Thank you for your service and interest in corrections!!
