AIP Description

The duties of the Alternate Chairperson have customarily been to:

  • Assume the duties of the Chairperson in his/her absence or at his/her discretion. The Delegate usually assumes the duties of the Chairperson in the absence of both the Chairperson and the Alternate Chairperson.
  • Act as liaison to all Central Offices/Intergroups, as well as those AA entities performing similar functions such as Hotlines and Answering Services, within Area 46.
