Hello Area 46!
It was wonderful seeing everyone at the March Pre-Conference Assembly in Truth or Consequences. Special thanks to District 4 and all who volunteered to host and produce this event!
We prepared two motions for this assembly. The first as a proposal for discussion only; a vote will not take place until August in order to provide members time to consider the changes:
Motion to divide the Technology Committee into two, separately funded standing Area committees. The AIP Section I.F.6.l (page 19) would be amended as described in the background information and the names of the two committees would be 1) Technology Committee, and 2) Hybrid Event Production Committee.
The second motion was regarding additional equipment that is needed for ongoing Area 46 hybrid events:
Motion to purchase six refurbished laptops for production of all Area 46 virtual or hybrid events including assemblies, assembly planning meetings, service forums, and other area workshops. Cost not to exceed $1500. Funding source is the Area 46 Special Projects fund.

We are pleased to announce a free giveaway for the old Area 46 PA system!
- Equipment includes: 2 wireless bluetooth speakers with cases & chargers, 2 speaker stands, and 2 wireless microphones
- This equipment functions best as a freestanding amplification system
- It did not work well wired to a mixer in our current hybrid set-up
- The PA system takes up space and may require technical knowledge to use
- Please consider your district or group’s ability to transport, store, and set up this equipment prior to entering

The Technology Committee reviewed, provided a summary, and submitted a report of our feedback to the assembly and Area 46 Delegate on the following GSC Agenda Items:
- Item N. (PI): Review progress report on the request to create a new form of communication to address anonymity on social media.
- Item R. (PI): Consider request to implement an Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc. Instagram account.
