Hello Fellow Trudgers!
Here are the bullet points of the Technology Committee meeting at the August Assembly in Albuquerque.
The Technology Committee:
- Will be creating a Venmo button on the contributions page
- created QR codes for CPC/PI page and El Farolito subscription page
- If you need a QR code, please let me make it so it stays within the Area and in consistent
- Northeast Central Office in Tulsa, OK has obtained a template of our website, had it professionally “washed” of our data, and are creating their own website
- Added another row of news to the service landing page – 6 articles shown. If you want all the news, hit the link in the header that says News.
- DCMs – Please check in with the meetings in your district. Within the last 2 weeks, I’ve had 3 meeting inquiries saying they went to the meeting place and the doors were closed.
- If you need a list of the meetings in your district that are listed on the meeting app, which is where everyone is getting their information, please email me at technology@dev.aa-nia.org
- Search Engine Optimization study/updating will be completed during our monthly Zoom meeting.
- Technology will be using the Constant Contact email platform to email pertinent information to our Area 46 contacts.
- GPL (general public license) Vault has dozens of plugins for where we pay a one-time/ lifetime fee of $299. We already pay $49 for one plug in and we should be paying $149 for another plugin that our web developer has been letting us use for the last 4 years… which shows that we are not fully self-supporting. We need to rectify that and will recoup the cost in 1.5 years.
- We got a good lead for a replacement for Eventbrite. Lynda will analyze the cost/ benefit and functionality of this new site vs. Eventbrite
- The Area will be changing the password to our Service Website on Sunday, December 8, 2024 during the Assembly. The password will not be given out ahead of that time.
