Hello Area 46!
I hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the holiday season. I look forward to seeing everyone at our last assembly of the rotation in Roswell.
I’m staying busy keeping the website current and functional, and working with my committee to maintain and improve our hybrid experience at assemblies. I’m also preparing for rotation by organizing files, creating tutorials, and training my successors (both the future Technology Committee Chair and Hybrid Event Production Chair.) These two committees are being left in very capable hands!
We’ve been receiving a number of requests from other Areas regarding our website and how we produce hybrid assemblies. Our committee is responding to these requests and providing experience where we can.
The Technology Committee was thrown a curveball this month when Eventbrite announced that it is no longer a free service. For our needs, the cost to use this platform is $49.99 per event. We went ahead with this unexpected expense for the December assembly, but are in the process of researching other, possibly more cost-effective options. Our hope is that we will be able to find something that also includes a solution for sending mass emails safely. This is a project that will likely bleed into the next rotation’s leadership, but I will do my best to provide as much guidance as possible.

If you notice any broken links or old information that needs updating, please send me an email along with the specific link or content that needs updating so I can get it corrected quickly.

The Technology Committee meets on the third Mondays @ 8:00 PM on Zoom. We are always seeking interested members to serve with us. There are many roles to fill, big and small, both virtually and on site at assemblies.
