Hello Area 46!
Thank you to District 14 for a wonderful December Area 46 Assembly! We appreciate your hard work and service to our community.
At the Area 46 Assembly, there were questions as to why we have a passworded service site. Our reason is to guard our anonymity. On the service site, there are names of trusted servants, reports from all of the committees and assemblies, and all of the minutes of our work. It is not that we want to keep our members out, it is to protect our anonymity.
Here is what the Technology Committee has been working on:
- Changed the password to the service site. The username remains the same (Area46) and the password is now recovery1 (all lowercase)
- Posted links to the AA.org YouTube ASL (American Sign Language) interpreted Big Book and Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions
- We are looking at ways to improve our website user experience, including having the assembly registration on the public site instead of the service site.
- Added a link to NMCYPAA website at the bottom right corner of the home page
- Added more slots for Area 46 news (from 3 to 6 and we might increase it to 8)
- Made online forms for folks leaving incarceration or recovery facilities to make contact with someone from AA (Corrections committee or Bridging the Gap committee)
- Interactive District maps with links to email for DCM and for any website connected with that district.
- We purchased GPL Vault for several of the plugins we use on the website to make the site user-friendly and help with the many features we use. This was a one-time purchase and will eliminate some of our yearly expenses with a couple of our previously purchased plugins.
