DOH!!!
I just realized I never updated the website with my April report. So let me add it now as I start preparing my May report.
The pre-conference assembly hosted by District 9 with the assist by District 8 was a great success. All went well and it was a smooth 1st assembly for the Panel 74 rotation. As usual I had some delusions of grandeur in my hopes for The Treasurer’s report during the assembly. I figured with my experience as the Finance chair and all I have learned since being elected to the treasurer position I was going to simplify the report and make it as understandable as the reports my home group’s treasurer provides.
Sigh …
Some days I swear, another member of my home group talks about being called the “Smart Guy” and tells us how novel an idea it was that if we don’t drink we won’t get drunk. I’m not sure if you all knew this … but there have been multiple treasurers before me. (Face palm) and they have done a great job and left me the tools and a format and prior examples of reports and are available to help when I feel the need to do another journal entry (snicker) . All I need to do is ask.
Well, enough with the commentary and my delusions.
I started off the treasurer’s report talking about our contributions so far this year. Take a look at the attached report to see the total contributions received during the month of March and the total year to date. During March, 30 groups contributed to the area they are listed below so you can make sure your groups contributions have been accounted for. Year to date 98 groups have contributed so far. If you are curious about your groups contributions please reach out to me using the Treasurer@NM-AA.org email and I’ll pass your groups information on.

During March seed money was sent to D14 to host the December 2024 assembly along with some expenses for travel to the assemblies and planning meetings being paid. Last month I mentioned making payments for the Delegate for the 2024 conference. Those checks have now cleared. Money was also sent to help cover the cost for the Area Delegate for SWRDA. Also the overage from the 2023 state convention was contributed to the 2024 GSO conference. That covers all the contributions and expenses during March. Overall we have spent just a few hundred dollars more than we have received thus far.

When making contributions from a group, along with the group’s registration number, please also include on the check or money
order the name of your group, city and district. Many groups have the same name, so it is helpful to have complete identifying
information to be sure your contribution is properly credited to your group. You may also make contributions through the NM
Area 46 website at dev.aa-nia.org via “Contributions” which will take you to the PayPal module. Please remember that the El Farolito also has a different address. To be sure that your contributions reach the newsletter in a timely manner, please send them directly to:

If you have any questions, you can reach me (Mike K.) at treasurer@dev.aa-nia.org.
The final thing of note to make sure to share with everyone is that we are still working our way through the change over
of accounts for; Correction, Literature, El Farolito, and The Grapevine. If you are having any financial issues please make me
and the respective committee chair aware and we will work to quickly resolve the issues.
I’ll leave you all with an uncharacteristic dose of sobriety. another quote from The Big Book (pg.66)
“And with us, to drink is to die.”
